Experienced Trauma Surgeon Dr. Therese M. Duane

Dr. Therese M. Duane is a medical professional maintaining hospital credentials with Altru Health System, Wythe County Community Hospital and the South Texas Health System. In the past, she has worked in positions such as academic chair of the Texas Health Resources Department of Surgery. Dr. Therese M. Duane held several leadership roles during her more than four-year tenure with JPS Health Network. She led the Fort Worth, Texas-based facility as medical director of acute care surgery research, vice chair of the department of surgery for quality and safety, and chief of the department of surgery and surgical specialties. Between 2008 and 2012 she gained trauma and critical care experience as an associate professor and then full professor in the department of surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Health. Dr. Therese Duane holds a doctor of medicine (MD) from the State University of New York, Buffalo. She graduated magna cum laude and later earned a master of business administration from the University of Massachusetts, Isenberg School of Management. Her training included a trauma and critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. She received her undergraduate degree in human development from Cornell University.
